Description Volker Hemmann 2005-06-10 18:46:45 UTC
Hi,

I emerged slune now 4 times, rebuild python, between, even let /usr/sbin/python-updater run.

When I try to start slune, I get this:
slune
* Slune * Slune lives in /usr/share
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/slune", line 38, in ?
    import slune.globdef as globdef, soya
  File "/usr/share/slune/globdef.py", line 20, in ?
    import soya
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/soya/__init__.py", line 26, in ?
    from soya._soya import *
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/soya/_soya.so: undefined symbol:
CalModel_Destroy

I searched google a little bit, and it seems, that slune is not compatible to latest cal3d:

>Slune-with-deps include Soya 0.9.2, which requires Cal3D 0.9.1

and

>I think you've installed Cal3D 0.10, but Soya still use Cal3D 0.9.1,
which is incompatible with 0.10

and emerge -s gives me this:

media-libs/cal3d
      Latest version available: 0.11.0_pre20050518
      Latest version installed: 0.10.0

looks like there should be a version check in the ebuild(s) ;)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge slune
2.slune
3.<enter>

Actual Results:
slune gives error message and does not start

Expected Results:
I would like to play slune.

not a bug in slune

> not a bug in slune

yeah, but I bug noentheles....
At the moment slune builds against a cal3d, that just no work, so a DEPEND
<=media-libs/cal3d-0.9.2 in the slune and or soya ebuid should help, no?

From what I found on google, soya should have never been build against cal3d-0.10,
right? Ok, hm, maybe I should have filed this as a soya-bug ... *cower* my fault ....

but since slune is the only victim, and totally prevent from running, it was a lot
more.. hm, intuitive, to put it here.. . besides it is 4 am ;)

Same fail here.
Comment 4 Bryan Østergaard (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-09-29 14:01:01 UTC
Closing as slune is package.masked due to a security bug. Please reopen if /
when slune is unmasked.
Comment 5 Volker Hemmann 2005-09-29 14:44:52 UTC
it is masked NOW, but it was not, when the bug was opened ;)

but I am ok with it - there is no reason to keep this bug open, as long as slune is package
masked :)
