if you want to edit the current ebuild.

Basically I took this line out during 139.0 bump because I believed it's fixed by upstream code, at least it is in Firefox. No clue why it wouldn't work with Thunderbird. Your problem may of course be unrelated, but that's my first suspicion.

Sadly it did not fix the issue athough I did copy the edit teh ebuild to /usr/local/portage:

Hmph, I was able to build tb-139.0 successfully with your use flags, CFLAGS, lto and gcc. I wonder if your dav1d or libaom is broken somehow? Also would -system-av1 use flag work?

USE=-system-av1 emerge -1 thunderbird

works for me. Other paths need to be explored.
