Hi, media-fonts/ubuntu-font-family ebuild unconditionally removes Ubuntu Medium and Ubuntu Medium Italic fonts (line 25: rm Ubuntu-M*.ttf || die). Would you please remove rm command or add USE flag to remove (or not) the fonts? Unity 7 user interface is using Medium fonts. Thank you.
Had to look at the old history to find the rationale as there was no comment. > Don't install medium weight fonts as they look too bold in Qt, bug 370851. https://gitweb.gentoo.org/archive/repo/gentoo-2.git/commit/?id=3edb322306c7733fbb0cd762bf634a4d80dc202b

Anyway I think it was fixed: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/118666524/ubuntu-font-family-sources_0.80-0ubuntu4_0.80-0ubuntu5.diff.gz Changelog ubuntu-font-family-sources (0.80-0ubuntu5) quantal; urgency=low [ Timo Jyrinki ] * Add modified Ubuntu-M.ttf binary (LP: #1054204) * Restore installing Ubuntu-M* (LP: #1048600) [ Iain Lane ] * Modify Ubuntu-MI.ttf in the same way (set "Family Name"), otherwise Ubuntu Medium Italic gets selected for Ubuntu Light Italic in LO. -- Iain Lane <iain@orangesquash.org.uk> Sat, 06 Oct 2012 13:20:49 +0100
