Description Krzysztof 2025-04-27 10:52:48 UTC
makemkv-1.17.7 forces user to download newer version - it quits.

Sources for media-video/makemkv-1.17.7 and media-video/makemkv-1.17.9 are no longer available in location specified in ebuild, media-video/makemkv-1.18.1 shows checksum error for source files.

By downloading files manually (1.17.7, 1.17.9), all of them shows checksum errors.

I'm not sure if they rearranged directories or something fishy is going on.

At this point it is not possible to emerge makemkv.

1.17.7/.9 indeed seem broken, but 1.18.1 downloads fine and I have no checksum errors?

Thanks Ionen, maybe they shuffling something...

Can confirm that media-video/makemkv-1.18.1 just magically started to work now, previously (like hour ago) I had this:

This is why I was reluctant to mark is stable. I knew upstream forced older versions to stop working unless you registered. I didn't know they moved/changed existing tarballs though. I've had a stablereq open since January that I've had to bump a couple of times now because it hasn't been acted on quickly enough. I'm tempted to just drop the stable keywords on this though.
