Description Andy Neitzke 2005-06-07 14:26:43 UTC
In the middle of upgrading from the KDE 3.4.0 split ebuilds to 3.4.1 ("emerge world" after bumping all the packages from 3.4.0 to 3.4.1 in package.keywords), my emerge failed, with the error:

make[1]: *** No rule to make target `soap/libgwsoap.la', needed by `libkcal_groupwise.la'. Stop.

emerge --info gives

Does it happen if try again?
Please post the all the last part of the compilation output.

Yes, it still happens if I try again. The last part of the output is

Comment 3 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-08 07:13:12 UTC
This is really strange... did you remove everything in /var/tmp/portage before
trying again?
Comment 4 Andy Neitzke 2005-06-08 10:18:47 UTC
I just did "rm -rf /var/tmp/portage" and "emerge kdepim-wizards" -- same
result.

it seems to me, that the kresources/groupwise/soap/Makefile isn't generated
properly. if i us the Makefile generated by the kdepim-kresources ebuild the
problem is fixed, although it compiles the soap files again (i guess they are
linked into the groupwise libraries?)

Do you mean the svn ebuild generates a bad makefile? Please post that makefile.

Andy, please also post your config.log and your Makefile and Makefile.in from
kresources/groupwise and kresources/groupwise/soap. I'll try to figure out
what the diff in makefiles is.

config.log and makefiles left over after failed build

I just did "emerge kdepim-wizards", waited for it to fail, and then collected
the requested files -- they are packaged in this .tar.gz file, with paths
relative to /var/tmp/portage/kdepim-wizards-3.4.1/work .

Is there a solution yet?
I'm having the exact problem here on my Amd64.

hi folks,
i *still* have that annoying build error while
emerging kdepim-wizards-3.4.3.

Has anyone a solution found yet???

Sorry that no one dealt with this bug. We're simply understaffed. Feel free to reopen, when you have the problem with KDE 3.5 as well. Assuming fixed.
