Description Romang 2005-06-07 01:57:50 UTC
Hello,

The folder : /var/run/mysqld has wrong permission on a new mysql 4.1.12 install
Should be chmod o+rx /var/run/mysqld so php could access the socket.

Regards.

I can confirm this using the ebuild for 4.1.12. You couldn't connect using
sockets on with other user other than root. I found this was due to the
permssions being too restrictive on the /var/run/mysqld directory.
