My original bug submission was missing a critical point... The TXT version of the handbook which arrives on the Universal CD has an omission which is critical to successful booting: The entire document is missing the 'udev' parameter note relative to the /dev/hda3 example given in the HTML version. I did a deliberate text search for the following: '/dev/hda3 udev' It is shown in the HTML version, not the TEXT version.

if it is correct in the current docs, but not in the cds, then this bug should be assigned to releng@g.o, so they can fix it (docs-team has no control over what goes on the CDs)

Even releng can't change this. They just grab a snapshot of our documents at release-time. So it's fixed for 2005.1.
