Hi, actually when we install hw-probe we get this type of messages: .... * Install additional packages for optional runtime features: * app-admin/mcelog for showing Machine Check Exceptions. * app-admin/sysstat for showing additional I/O statistics. * app-misc/ddcutil for showing display data channel (ddc) information. * dev-libs/opensc for showing smart card (reader) information. ... I think, would be a lot easier and intuitive instead print that messages, uses USEs for each one. One reason is when we install deps, is almost impossible to get this, if any dep trigger this type of info there, USEs would help a lot to avoid missing this messages. Thx! Reproducible: Always
That would violate Gentoo's policy on optional runtime dependencies. https://projects.gentoo.org/qa/policy-guide/dependencies.html#pg0001
