I want to propose a little enhacement to the nforce-audio ebuild: to change its einfo. The actual one is inappropriate because nvmixer is actually installed with the ebuild. It would be better to instruct the user on how to use nvmix-reg to restore his/her volume settings between sessions. Here is my proposal: "If you want to restore your volume settings between sessions add this line to your /etc/conf.d/local.start /usr/bin/nvmix-reg -f /etc/nvmixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 and this one to your /etc/conf.d/local.stop /usr/bin/nvmix-reg -f /etc/nvmixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1" I dont know if these are the right instructions but they work for me. I dont know either if they work for 2.4 kernels as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Seems like this package doesn't exists anymore.
I dont understand what you mean. If you are referring to media-sound/nforce-nvmixer, sure it does not exist anymore, and that's why the actual einfo is misleading. But nvmix-reg is installed with the nforce-audio ebuild. Well, at least in version 1.0.0301. I dont know if it is installed with version 1.0.0292-r1, which is by now the stable one.
Sorry I misunderstood, and was mislead by another thing.
Added these statements in a slightly modified form to the newest nforce-audio ebuild. Thanks for your report, and sorry about the delay.
Thank you very much for accepting my little enhacement. It is really my pleasure to help the dedicated Gentoo developer community.
