ian: I can mentor you. But the big question is: Should we implement it in the current design, or wait for the redesign? What's the status? How long do we still have to wait?
i could wait for the redesign butonly if the new design will come before HURD ;p
If you want the redesign to happen this is what needs to be done: a) devrel needs to open recruiting back up so I can be official b) infra to get us the test box that swift requested (they are working on that. Yay for infra!) c) get Aaron Shi (the redesign contest winner) to either i) start helping me (which he has not done) ii) give us the copyrights to his images and I'll do it myself (this is the one I vote for) or if he refuses to help or assign gentoo the copyrights iii) we scrap his design and pick a new one. So, as soon as that happens I can start working on the redesign *again* and we can possibly beat the HURD to a release ;) I have the new design to a good workable point, it needs lots and lots of lovin' before it can be released but it is well on it's way.

Can we mark this bug for later since its probably going to be implemented in the redesign?

I'm currently working on a replacement for the searchengine used at forums.gentoo.org. If you still need any help with implementing a search function for g.o I'd be glad to help.

Swift and I talked about it and swift said that we can implement the search at a later date so you have time to work on this. Talk to swift about it on irc for details.
