I had reproduced the issue of defaulting to clang 19 when LLVM_SLOT=18 is selected and I am currently working on a patch.

I have pushed a change to .NET build that should pick the correct compiler. Now when using LLVM_SLOT=18 I see in the logs that clang-18 is getting picked. Anna, if you can, please, give that version a try, with LLVM_SLOT=18 of course.

Hello vgrhost, while I haven't heard back on any upstream fixes I was able to get this to build on one of my computers with the following. creating the file /etc/portage/env/native-cflags with the contents: COMMON_FLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe" CFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}" CXXFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}" FCFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}" FFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}" putting the following in my package.use (I organize my package.use into individual files grouped by what they generally belong to so this is alone in /etc/portage/package.use/dotnet in my case): dev-dotnet/dotnet-sdk -llvm_slot_19 llvm_slot_18 Then finally for the native-cflags to be applied, the following in /etc/portage/package.env: dev-dotnet/dotnet-sdk native-cflags At some point my laptop seemed to get through it somehow but my desktop is still failing the same way the attached "With march native" error in dotnet-arcade is so it doesn't seem to be fully fixed yet
