I understand that the only relevant version of tailscale is the latest
released version, so when a new version is released all previous
versions are dead.

I can commit straight to stable on amd64 since I have that hardware, so
I will stabilize this version there now.

@arm64:
How do you propose we handle stabilization there?

You can go ahead and stabilize the version requested in this bug, but
what should we do about future versions?

Hmph, dunno, I run very old version of tailscale on a stable alpine server and it works /shrug

Yeah, older versions seem fine. Just file stablereqs regularly.
