Description Frank Russo 2005-05-30 13:32:50 UTC
Hi there,

I am having a problem with konqueror crashing on numerous occasions when used as
a file/directory browser. The two actions that cause it to occur with the
greatest frequency are.....

1: Right click a directory, rename, change the name, click off of the directory
(finalize the name change), double click the newly named directory to open.

2: Right click a directory, rename, change the dir name, finalize,
right-click-grab drag files to this directory (select move).

The output from #1 is as follows

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
Right click a directory, rename, change the name, click off of the directory
(finalize the name change), double click the newly named directory to open.

Alternatively

Right click a directory, rename, change the dir name, finalize, right-click-grab
drag files to this directory (select move).

Actual Results:
Konqueror crashes (sometimes) with the above message.

Expected Results:
Konquer opens the directory (or moves files there in the case of #2)

Please ping me with any additional information that I have to supply and I will
respond within 24 hours.

Comment 1 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-06 06:57:41 UTC
Cannot reproduce here...
Have you tried with kde 3.4.1? Some possibly related fixes were committed:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105304.

Comment 2 Frank Russo 2005-06-06 19:53:14 UTC
Yup, I run the ~x86 branch and am still able to get crashes. I will double
check to see if the trace is the same, or has changed with the upgrade.

Comment 3 Frank Russo 2005-06-06 21:04:52 UTC
Just spent the better part of 2 hours using konqueror trying to repro. Then I
remember that the previous 3.4.1 crash happened after the install, but before
restarting X. I am unable to reproduce the crash at this time. Feel free to
mark as resolved. Tree view is definately more stable.

Ok.
