Because I needed gpu offload, I previously tried to build clang with offload support manually from source. This broke https://bugs.gentoo.org/945265. So i tried unmerging clang and llvm and libomp in versions 19 and install versions 18 (which had an offload flag). But now that did not work. Hi, apparently, when I tried to install clang, I first made an attempt without runtimes, which installed clang but without offloading support. After I did an xargs rm < install_manifest.txt in the build directory to remove that version, I can now install clang again.... So, I guess this can be closed.
If building something manually from source, I recommend: a) always passing a custom prefix; b) choosing a custom prefix that is also not /usr/local as stuff may still find it
