Patch corrects syntax and typographical errors.

The submitted patch contains a fix for the aformentioned error. In addition,
revisions are made to syntax and typographical errors. An effort was also made
to use gender-neutral language where needed/possible.

This isn't a devrel doc.

Two questions:
1. What is a 'devrel doc'?
2. Will the patch that I submitted deplete whatever goodwill I have left in this
community?

submitting patches _increases_ goodwill, not the other way around. bring on the
patches :-D

Thanks for a nice patch. Much better English IMO but please do not mix English
improvements with any kind of content changes. Translators will likely miss some
changes if they are buried amongst many language improvements.

I guess that is good news ... your tone on the mailing list would suggest
otherwise. I stayed up late on many nights working on such revisions, only to
have the effort rejected by the Gentoo Documentation Project (GDP).

P.S. Can anyone explain why I have to log into bugs.gentoo.org to participate in
this correspondence, as opposed to having the responses mailed to me?

sorry about that, i just get too much email... patches and fixes are highly
desirable, so long as they fix real problems and not simply redo things. the
patch above seems to fix real problems, though as neysx said, gdp policy asks
that content changes be seperated from grammer/spelling/tpyo/phrasing fixes.

if you want to be emailed the progress of any bug, add yourself to the "cc" list
above. i have gone ahead and added you for this bug since you seem to be
desiring it.

another option is to simply "follow" docs-team@g.o, which is how i get emails
without being cc'd in every bug. click on "edit prefs" at the bottom of this
page and then "email"

appologies to everyone for the slightly off-topic post

Thanks. I've committed the patch except for the his/her changes, some time ago
it was decided that using "his" is generally approved for gender-neutral documents.
