if you have a use flag of doc, sun-jdk ebuild will not work. I attached the new sun jdk ebuild so this can be fixed.
Created attachment 4871 [details] sun-jdk-1.4.1.01-r1.ebuild
I'll take this bug since i reported it and sent the ebuild with the fix.

Fixed, and to have working depends, unmasked dev-java/java-sdk-docs-1.4.1.
I know that this bug has been marked fixed but I was trying to update kde to 3.1 today and I got the following error. I have both java and docs specified in my USE settings so it picked it up as a dependency. I followed the instructions and it installed ok. I just wanted to document the error. bash-2.05a# emerge java-sdk-docs Calculating dependencies ...done! >>> emerge (1 of 1) dev-java/java-sdk-docs-1.4.1 to / >>> Unpacking source... !!! ERROR: dev-java/java-sdk-docs-1.4.1 failed. !!! Function src_unpack, Line 2, Exitcode 0 !!! Please download j2sdk-1_4_1-doc.zip from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/download.html and move it to /usr/portage/distfiles
