Description Dan Cardamore 2002-10-21 15:00:45 UTC
I just installed innd without a problem on a gentoo 1.4 machine. WHen I start it with
'/etc/init.d/innd start' I get the following error in my /var/log/syslog file:
innd: SERVER
cant dbzinit /var/spool/news/history No such file or directory

The file does exist and has
the proper permissions:
thrush inn # ll /var/spool/news/history
-rw-rw-r-- 1 news news 0 Oct 21
14:47 /var/spool/news/history

I've never setup innd before so I'm not sure where to go from
here. The file 'dbzinit' does not exist on my machine if that helps.

Please read the file "INSTALL" located under /usr/share/doc/inn-$VERSION.

You have to get actualized newsgroups and active-files, call makedbz, configure your storage etc. pp.

should be fixed with 2.3.5
