media-sound/zinf has an undeclared dependency on x11-libs/xosd.  Attempting to install zinf without xosd already installed leads to this error:

cd . && /bin/sh /var/tmp/portage/zinf-2.2.5-r1/work/zinf-2.2.5/config/missing --run aclocal-1.7 -I m4
aclocal: configure.ac: 565: macro `AM_PATH_LIBXOSD' not found in library
make: *** [aclocal.m4] Error 1

Adding it to the ebuild by hand and digesting pulled in xosd the emerge process got past that step.

fixed in cvs, xosd dependency now controlled by the respective useflag. thanks
for reporting

It doesn't appear that xosd is an optional dependency.  If -xosd is set in USE,
and if xosd doesn't happen to be installed anyway, the same error appears.
