Description John Davis (zhen) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-10-20 20:19:50 UTC
Xine does not work w/ OSS. I set my USE vars to include -alsa, but Xine dies on
start because it cannot find the alsa modules. If you need any more info, mail me.

Can you try "xine -A oss" and see if that works?

Can you also include the complete output of "xine --help"? Thanks.

Bingo, xine -A oss does it. Maybe a mention in the manpage?

Thanks again Arcady -

I wonder why xine tried to use alsa plugin in the first place. Do you have alsa
libraries installed by chance?
