Comment 9 Alex Efros 2024-10-06 19:22:54 UTC
I've reproduced this on gcc-13 using
  CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native -flto" LDFLAGS="-Werror=lto-type-mismatch"
Removing either "-flto" from CFLAGS or "-Werror=lto-type-mismatch" from LDFLAGS fixes the issue.

I'm not a C expert, so can anyone please explain what these options does, why Toralf has added them, do we need to support them and which kind of support is needed (for example is stripping these options in ebuild counts as a fix?).
Comment 10 Alex Efros 2024-10-06 19:34:25 UTC
Similar issue was already reported to upstream, with suggested fix:

  sed -i 's/LDFLAGS = -fPIE/LDFLAGS = -fPIC/' Makefile.Linux
