Thanks but we opted to not keep/maintain/test patches for kernel compatibility (bare rare exceptions), esp. for legacy drivers, and instead give a warning when an unsupported kernel is used.

You are free to use /etc/portage/patches if do not want to stick to the (still supported) kernel 6.6.x lts branch.

Imagine future versions of 470 will support a new kernel lts branch sooner or later given it's still supported but doesn't try to support the latest all the time.
