Description Sam 2002-10-20 13:55:27 UTC
I've tried to install Corel WP8 DPE with no succes, it's dynamically built
against libc5 and closed source. In various other distributions it's easy to
install yet in Gentoo after installing lib-compat it doesn't do anything. Ldd
gives an error and executing gives a "bus error". Those errors occur normally
when the old libc5 isn't installed on other distro's. WP needs:
- ld-linux.so.1.9.5
- ld.so-1.9.5
- libc-5.3.12 through 5.4.46
- libm.so.5.*

I also tried installing ld.so-1.9.5-13.i386.rpm and libc-5.3.12-31.i386.rpm to
no avail. WP appaerantly looks for the files in /usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/ for
libc5 files. But lib-compat doesn't install the files in that place !?

This bug is about to die of old age.

lib-compat-1.4 should install the files to handle this

if it doesnt, oh well
