When bootstrapping "by the book", gettext fails with an incorrect digest. The 
problem is that the tarball is actually an ascii file containing "ls" output 
of a directory. To resolve the problem, download the actual tarball and put it 
into distfiles/.

what version of gettext are you talking about ?
