Description Tero Grundström 2005-05-25 06:37:54 UTC
From the gxine 0.4.2 ChangeLog:

! This version should be buildable and useable with GTK+2.2.
It may also use, but not rely on, a few features from GTK+2.6.
* Configure switches for GTK+ versions compatibility and whether to
use the desktop integration wizard. (Mainly for packagers.)

As gtk+-2.6.4-r1 is now stable on all archs we could make gxine to depend on
(and use the new features of) gtk+-2.6.

It doesn't use alot of the new features, but I believe this will change in
future versions.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Works fine here.

I think this could be done for 0.5 version which should be out not too far
from now.

But I'm not a GTK guy so I can't estimate the workload needed to be sure that
this works.. if someone knows it better please tell something.

Comment 3 Tero Grundström 2005-05-25 07:08:57 UTC
Well what can I say.. except that it works fine here on ~x86. I have not used it
much yet, though.

BTW, bump to version 0.4.5 is needed, see bug #93939.

I'll do the bump, it's not needed for that problem anyway.
Comment 5 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-25 07:56:25 UTC
I've enabled support for the new gtk in 0.4.5 version.. hope that won't break
(seem fine also here on amd64).

Comment 6 Tero Grundström 2005-05-25 11:12:20 UTC
We'll see if it breaks. That's what we have ~arch for ;)

Thanks
