Was upgrading and igt-gpu-tools failed to compile. Enabling nolto.conf for the package let it successfully compile, so it seems to be an lto issue (sam also suggested it was). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enable LTO for x11-apps/igt-gpu-tools 2.$ emerge -v x11-apps/igt-gpu-tools Actual Results: igt-gpu-tools fails to emerge: ... I'm unable to reproduce this. And e.g. the first missing symbol appears to be in lib/gpgpu_shader.c exactly where it belongs (+ in the corresponding object file).

Install iga64 (libigc-tools package) to re-compile code. It appears this package is missing a critical BDEPEND that would make me actually able to reproduce what other people are seeing. Discovered as part of an IRC debugging session with another user. The error likely comes from the objcopy issue since it cannot read the compiler bytecode format.
Also, the generate_iga64_codes script is performing a couple other worrying tactics, such as referencing input files without using the meson.current_source_dir(), just "../" And invoking `cpp` which may or may not work depending on native-symlinks support and definitely doesn't handle clang-cpp. Of course this *might* not matter if the expectation is that you only need to generate iga64 codes when developing the project (?) but for dist tarballs it should be distributed? Unclear to me exactly what the upstream project is doing but I didn't poke around too much. It is certainly very flaky regardless.
