I don't know if it should be in the bugzilla, but I just don't know where exactly I should go. After another stable update, I got plasma 6. Then I figured out my global theme is broken. I came to settings -> Colours & Themes to see that my global beloved theme Sweet is not there, but some parts of it left. So, I got to "Get New" button to find out all Themes from Plasma 5 are erased. I felt sad. Found Sweet LAF Plasma 6. Found that it from the previous author "eliverlara". Good. Clicked install. It failed. Something like "couldn't install ... /tmp/dasdasd-Sweet....tar.xz OK, maybe a standard kde theme like dark breeze looks ok? No, not good enough. OK, Let's check other popular themes in the kde theme store. I've 5 different themes. 3 of them are looks like they are from MacOS. When I saw them I really wanted to... vomit at my screen... I just don't like the aesthetics. in 4 of them there's no assets for Alt+Tab. One of them looks ok on screenshots, but in reality it's another broken theme. OK, maybe it's possible to install the Sweet theme. Maybe the problem is that I should uninstall all related to all Plasma 5 themes. Ok, `rg -l "Sweet" /` . A lot of folders. Remove ~/.local/share/plasma/* and /usr/share/sddm/themes/* . Ok now it seems to be that it can't install sddm-something, since the error looks like this: ``` Installation of /tmp/SttqMt-Sweet.tar-20240829220235.xz failed: Could not install dependency: 'kns://sddmtheme.knsrc/api.kde-look.org/2153297' ``` I just don't know why. Ok, Maybe at github.com there's something. From the KDE's themes store: https://github.com/EliverLara/Sweet/tree/nova It turns out, KDE sweet themes for plasma 6 are from not main branche. Ok. Then there's issue: https://github.com/EliverLara/Sweet/issues/259 . It's Open and about porting the theme to Plasma 6. Nothing useful there. So, I have an error and I don't know how to debug it. If somebody know how, please, explain or share a link with explanation. I would really appreciate that.
Ok, I forgot to `emerge -avt --depclean`. Now it asks root password to install sddm. Good. So now another error appeared: ``` Installation of /tmp/CbpQXK-Sweet.tar-20240829220235.xz failed: Could not install dependency: 'kns://plasmoids.knsrc/api.kde-look.org/2144212' ```
Finally. I needed to delete previously installed AndromedaLauncher ( a plasmoid ) from /home/paxu/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/ . I could use finally my favourite theme. I don't know should it be solved or not and if then how?
This is really out of scope here. Themes need to be fixed by their respective upstreams.
