Description Gert-Jan Rodenburg 2002-10-20 08:16:31 UTC
The stage2 and stage3 tarballs available for download contain an error.
This error affects GRUB. in the /boot part of the two tarballs there
is another boot dir (thus /boot/boot) with in there the whole grub shebang.

This made it impossible for me (ok it was 03.00 AM) to install a new kernel
AFTER I had booted into gentoo for the first time AFTER the installation.

I am not sure how to solve it, or, if it is the [r|b]oot :) cause of my error, but
after having compiled and installed the new kernel (gentoo-sources) and copied the bzImage
to (the mounted) /boot, grub gave me error 15's, could not find file.

Seems me is stupid.
The boot dir in the boot dir (cryptic huh!) has to be there?
is symlink....
OK, I'll go to bed now...

Sorry for the inconvenience
