See https://github.com/root-project/root/pull/12970 If you have a CERN account, see also: - https://its.cern.ch/jira/browse/ROOT-9292 - https://its.cern.ch/jira/browse/ROOT-9293 If you want, you can use MYCMAKEARGS to enable them without needing to change the ebuild, and you can use package.env to make it persistent. However, it's probably a good idea to not use those options at all.
Closing as won't fix. Please use MYCMAKEARGS if you want, but as per the comment above, I don't recommend enabling these options. Cheers,
