not sure, which package causes the issue directly. but after updating to sys-kernel/dracut-102 it's not possible to build/install an uefi-build image. 'uefi=yes' is set via config file in '/etc/dracut.d/'. Not sure, if it's needed or the decision is made via USE flag. Until sys-kernel/dracut-060_pre20240104-r4 it works with every sys-kernel/gentoo-kernel package (even with 6.10.3). Using 'dracut-060' the command line to run draqcut sets '--uefi' while 'dracut-102' sets '--no-uefi' Output see attached files. Error on boot is: [ 1.239849] dracut-initqueue[418]: Failed to start systemd-cryptsetup@luks\x2dcde09b75\x2dd8f7\x2d4be0\x2d88ff\x2deb9c7f36327f.service: Unit systemd-cryptsetup@luks\x2dcde09b75\x2dd8f7\x2d4be0\x2d88ff\x2deb9c7f36327f.service not found. ... captured on a kvm/qemu vm with LUKS encrypted LVM-Setup and secure boot enabled. Same issue on my laptop, but here i have an UKI image with LUKS encrypted LVM partitions and secure boot. Dropping back to =sys-kernel/dracut-101 with no change of config files works.

You don't need ukify. The uki flag controls whether an uki is built and pulls in the systemd-stub dependency. The combination "dracut uki" builds the uki with dracut. The combination "ukify uki" builds the uki with ukify, without any unitramfs The combination "ukify dracut uki" builds an uki with ukify including an initramfs generated with dracut

Signing with ukify is controlled via /etc/kernel/uki.conf Note that your /etc/kernel/install.conf overrides /usr/lib/kernel/install.conf, it does not append to it. Therefore in you current setup you loose the initrd and uki generator settings. I recommend deleting /etc/kernel/install.conf.
