Description Aarcane 2005-05-23 00:15:44 UTC
I asked in gaim for a way to disable gaim dropshadows, they say that the
following line must be edited:
gtkblist.c:64
I'm not about to go mucking in gaim sourcecode even to edit one line, especially
each time I need to emerge an update.. a use flag for this would be MOST useful

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge gaim
2.
3.

Actual Results:
gaim emerges with dropshadows enabled

Expected Results:
emerged without dropshadows enabled (assuming the associated use flag was enabled)

Adding more local USE flags for unsupported options in a Bad Thing. Made even
worse when it is for an option that no one else has seen necessary.

I spoke with the gaim devs about this and they indicated that you were in #gaim
being rather bellicose and making demands because this affects your opengl
wallpaper. I feel safe categorizing this as a fringe case and I feel
comfortable not mucking up the package with patches that would only need to be
included in the ebuild package forever.

Feel free to propose this with the BreakMyGentoo folks.
