Description Johannes Weiner 2005-05-22 12:20:11 UTC
Hi

Today i noticed that reporting outdated packages isn't that efficient,
especially when i posted a list of packages. Having reported every package
individually this would have taken ages.

I thought about a small weblist with entry form, where those packages could be
reported.
Just a small form with packagename-dropdownbox and perhaps an optional comment
field, so the devs can have a look at this list and know which packages to check.

Because this system is so easy, I guess more users would report outdated things.

this weblist would have to interface with bugzilla as that is the primary method
by which we track bugs (including requests to bump packages.) It would not be
effective to create an entirely separate site and expect devs to check that
(plus bugzilla).

While bugzilla may not be the most efficient method for reporting things, it is
the primary method that we offer today. If someone wants to write and submit a
new proof-of-concept system for review, we're happy to look at it.

Marking as wontfix for now.
