Description Fab 2024-07-02 13:11:11 UTC
On a stable system, since update to :
 - media-video/pipewire-1.0.7
 - media-video/wireplumber-0.5.3
the number of devices outputs in pavucontrol doubled. Moreover when connecting a bluetooth headset, the related device output is simply missing.

Downgrading to :
 - media-video/pipewire-1.0.5
 - media-video/wireplumber-0.4.17-r1
is fixing the issue.

I will try to investigate, and attach screenshots/details later.
For now I'm opening this bug right now to ask you to not drop pipewire-1.0.5 and wireplumber-0.4.17-r1 from the tree.

Thanks.

Sure, I'll keep them around.

I imagine it's related to https://www.gentoo.org/support/news-items/2024-05-06-wireplumber-0_5-bump.html.

Ok, after investigation I found out that the problems happened only when logging in with a particular user, but not the others. So, I went to his ~ and found the directory structure listed in the attachment.

I don't know where it comes from, this user is unable to create this himself, and I never created it. Closing as invalid.
