Description godzil 2002-10-19 14:49:59 UTC
When I try use pci-setup, an error is writen on screen :

*Searching for PCI device...
* 3Com Corporation 3c905 100BaseTX [Boomerang]; loading 3c90x...
Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.19-xfs-
r1/modules.dep [!!]

And it don't want to load a driver for my network card, and I can't install my
gentoo linux with only stage1 tarball... :(

uhh, dude, your network card was initialized during boot up...
Comment 4 godzil 2002-10-20 05:07:52 UTC
Nop
eth0 isn't show up when I use ifconfig
and why I use
pci-setup

and

net-setup eth0, it don't want to bring up eth0 ?
Some times it's work, some times not... (and pci-setup still write a warning)
Comment 5 godzil 2002-10-20 05:10:08 UTC

Comment 6 Brandon Low (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-10-21 18:08:03 UTC
do an ifconfig -a when it isn't coming up, and post the output.
Comment 7 Brandon Low (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-13 13:52:47 UTC
Re-open this if it still doesn't work on a 1.4 pre-release liveCD
Comment 8 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:24:14 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
