When I try to update my system using 'emerge world', it fails to compile kdenetwork-3.4.0-r2. It seems to be trying to link against GTK for some reason. It shouldn't. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge kdenetwork OR 1. emerge world (it is in the update queue) Actual Results: /bin/sh ../../../libtool --silent --mode=link --tag=CXX i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -Wnon-virtual-dtor -Wno-long-long -Wundef -ansi -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wconversion -Wchar-subscripts -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -Wwrite-strings -DNDEBUG -DNO_DEBUG -O2 -O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE -DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST -DQT_NO_STL -DQT_NO_COMPAT -DQT_NO_TRANSLATION -o kcm_kopete_nowlistening.la -rpath /usr/kde/3.4/lib/kde3 -module -no-undefined -Wl,--no-undefined -Wl,--allow-shlib-undefined -avoid-version -module -no-undefined -Wl,--no-undefined -Wl,--allow-shlib-undefined -R /usr/kde/3.4/lib -R /usr/kde/3.4/lib -R /usr/qt/3/lib -R /usr/lib -L/usr/kde/3.4/lib -L/usr/qt/3/lib -L/usr/lib nowlisteningpreferences.lo nowlisteningconfig.lo nowlisteningprefs.lo -lkutils grep: /usr/local/lib/libgtk.la: No such file or directory /bin/sed: can't read /usr/local/lib/libgtk.la: No such file or directory libtool: link: `/usr/local/lib/libgtk.la' is not a valid libtool archive make[4]: *** [kopete_nowlistening.la] Error 1 make[4]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdenetwork-3.4.0-r2/work/kdenetwork-3.4.0/kopete/plugins/nowlistening' make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdenetwork-3.4.0-r2/work/kdenetwork-3.4.0/kopete/plugins' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdenetwork-3.4.0-r2/work/kdenetwork-3.4.0/kopete' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdenetwork-3.4.0-r2/work/kdenetwork-3.4.0' make: *** [all] Error 2 !!! Um, ugly hidden dependency. Please grep the .la files of your xmms installation for "libgtk".
Thanks, I re-emerged xmms and it managed to install fine.
