when I startx as user, It crashes giving me an error message saying that the
symbol libdri.a is unresolved.  It works fine as root, however.  I tried adding
my user to the "video" group to no avail.  The same xorg.conf file is used
whether I startx as user or root.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.type 'startx'

Actual Results:  
Using vt7
Symbol __glXgetActiveScreen from module /usr/lib/module/extensions/libdri.a is
unresolved!

Nvidia cards don't use DRI, fix your xorg.conf.

X still works for root but not for user.  In synopsis, here are the differences
in their log files:

both user and root log files have these errors:

remove 'Load  "dri"' from your module section. the keymap problem may be a
result of Bug 92388
