Reopen once you attached the ebuild as plaintext. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=3#doc_chap2

Sorry about this. I sent this bug report late last night & forgot about tarball attachments :).
although the SRC_URI is kind of clever, i'm afraid it's a bad idea
Why us? we already have our nologin binary.
SpanKY: any suggestions on SRC_URI are welcome.
bsd gets it because it's written by the bsd guys so who would know better about maintaining it
Sorry, I don't think this belongs to bsd herd just because it's BSD-ish thing. We don't need it, as BSD's userlands already have it in their sources. Also, such a live CVS ebuild doesn't seems to be good anyway. Finally, gcc is not the right compiler to use, you need to inherit toolchain-funs and use $(tc-getCC).
I'll take it. SpankY's right wrt to SRC_URI though. I will have to download them, tar it up, and put it on our mirrors (like we do with other BSD packages like this one).
Ok, hopefully the tarball has made it to the mirrors. If not, then you'll have to wait until it does (or try different mirrors). Since there is no actual version, I've used the date of the snapshot (20050522 in this case).
