I had the same problem with the stable build (r3), but not with the unstable one (r5).
Observation: Having upgraded gcc to . . . sys-devel/gcc-14.2.1_p20241026:14, running "emerge --emptytree { system | world}" afterwards, . . . app-cdr/cdrtools-3.02_alpha09-r5:0 had emerged successfully. Hth.
