You might also consider building igraph with LTO, which brings tangible performance improvements, and which we (the igraph developers) recommend.

Pass `-DIGRAPH_ENABLE_LTO=ON` to CMake.

If this doesn't work on some platform or with some compiler choice, `-DIGRAPH_ENABLE_LTO=AUTO` is an alternative.

Regarding platforms, currently amd64 and x86 are included. We do run standard CI tests on arm64, ppc64 and s390, and manual tests on arm, and the code is written portably. You can consider adding more platforms.
