I have been using Gentoo for ~2 months now, and I have seen bad or outdated ebuild in the main repository that do not even build (notably gui-apps/waybar, no disrespect to the maintainer). I see this as a way to become more involved with the Gentoo project as a whole, so I can give back to something I love and use everyday.
Just to be clear, are you aware that you can't add packages to GURU if they are in ::gentoo already?
Welcome!

Sorry for the confusion, but I was just stating my unhappiness with the quality of some packages, even in the mainline ::gentoo repository. I see GURU as the "AUR" of Gentoo, and as a way to make change in respect to the entire Gentoo project.
