I'm not sure if this is a misunderstanding of the DPS documentation, but it seems like DPS only uses the type uuid of a partition to achieve it's goals, while the handbook suggests, in adition to changing the partition type with t on fdisk, changing the partition uuid to the same value of the type uuid for efi systems with gpt. Furthermore, some other partition types explicitly use different partition uuids for other things, like the root verity partition type, so changing the partition uuid seems really pointless.
