Portage doesn't record the mtimes of directories in CONTENTS. Therefore, if an ebuild merges an empty 
directory, when the previous instance is unmerged the directory will be unmerged as well, even though 
it just got installed. 
 
BTW, I do need an empty directory without even a .keep in it, for kdebase.
