Description G. Gibson 2005-05-17 12:29:58 UTC
I am in a situation where the scsi2 chain has a hardware defect, but I would
still like to get the main hd (on a hvd fw-scsi bus) up and going with the base
install. You included the tuplip module (thank you) so I can use the network,
but it avails me not because I cannot access the main drive chain booting from
the CD. And.. since the scsi2 has issues (yes, I've checked all the usual
suspects with respect to scsi for the problem) I cannot even produce a liveHD
for setup. I'm boned because you didn't include the 'zalon' driver in any fashion.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot from 2004.3 hppa universal iso
2.
3.

Actual Results:
can't use the hvd fw-scsi bus from the liveCD.

Expected Results:
allowed me to mount the main drive on the hvd fw-scsi bus.

not available at this time (I'm reporting from my mac at home).

Hi,

2004.3 has many problems. Can you try this livecd instead :

http://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/os/linux/gentoo/experimental/hppa/livecd/livecd-hppa-20050419-rc4.iso

This one should work. Can you report if it really does or not ?

TIA

...so was this one fixed for 2005.1?

Yeah this was fixed and can be closed.
