When i attempted to emerge commonbox-utils-0.3, the process stopped at the
digest checking routine and told me that the digests didn't match. I included a
log of the process.

Hi,         Well the digest does verify wether you have an uncorrupted source file. In    your case the digests do not match which means your download is corrupt.       Please remove /usr/portage/distfiles/commonbox-utils-0.3.tar.bz2 and download the source file again to correct this.  Best regards,  Bart
