uefi-mkconfig provides a 'grub-mkconfig' inspired approach to automated efistub kernel management. It should in principle work on all arches that support CONFIG_EFI_STUB (amd64, x86, arm, arm64). installkernel uses uefi-mkconfig for automated efistub booting on non-systemd systems (i.e. USE="efistub -systemd") in analogue to what app-emulation/virt-firmware provides for systemd systems (i.e. USE="efistub systemd"). Please keyword uefi-mkconfig on remaining arches that support EFI_STUB. Runtime testing can be accomplished by emerging >=sys-kernel/installkernel[efistub,-systemd], installing uefi-mkconfig, and then re-installing the kernel (via 'make install' or 'emerge --config').
