Currently it appears the Apache instance serving bugs.gentoo.org supports compressing XML replies for the XMLRPC API, but not JSON replies for the JSONRPC or REST APIs.

I assume this means the related configs for mod_deflate and mod_brotli don't have the relevant content types for JSON enabled.
