vpnc 0.3.3 is now available Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 59108 [details] net-misc/vpnc-0.3.3 This ebuild is a bit ugly, but that comes from bad design upstream (IMO), because: 1.) There is a script in /etc/vpnc/ (I dislike this place) 2.) "vpnc-connect" has been removed in favor for "vpnc" (not sure if there is a need for an symlink) If anyone reads this message, vpnc-0.3.3 works ;)
Yes, it works, but i haven't been using the ebuild. The new VPNC is much nicer because of it's automatic replacement of the resolv.conf...
So is this going to be added to the portage tree?
please add. shouldn't be too hard to resolve this bug ;-)
Your ebuild seems to be working fine for me, however: - I think this might be a cleaner statement to install vpnc-script: exeinto /etc/vpnc doexe vpnc-script - according to README, vpnc requires libgcrypt-1.1.90 or above (not 1.1.91).
vpnc-connect symlink is really not necessary. This is from a post on vpnc-devel: <snip> Alex Valentine <alex@phataudio.org> 2005-10-21: > Sorry for the dumb question, but can anyone explain the connection > process now as of 0.3.3 with the removal of vpnc-connect? I can't seem > to find any information in the README. In short: to connect, you run vpnc, vpnc will run vpnc-script to set up routing and DNS. To disconnect, you run vpnc-disconnect, which will kill vpnc, which will run vpnc-script to reset routing and DNS. </snip>
