I am getting exactly the same problem, with the same patch log. However, I'm making an install from new, and not an upgrade. emerge info follows: Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/amd64/2005.0, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r1, 2.6.11-gentoo-r7 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11-gentoo-r7 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 846 Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.5 [2.3.5 (#1, May 16 2005, 17:45:01)] distcc 2.18.3 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5 sys-apps/sandbox: [Not Present] sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.5, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.4_p6 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r8 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.16 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.8.1-r4 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=opteron -mtune=opteron -O3 -mmmx -msse -msse2 -m3dnow -fforce-addr -pipe" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=opteron -mtune=opteron -O3 -mmmx -msse -msse2 -m3dnow -fforce-addr -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/ http://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/ http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j5" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/my.portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X Xaw3d aalib acpi amd64 atlas berkdb bitmap-fonts crypt f77 fam fastcgi fftw font-server fortran gd gdbm gif ginac gmp gpm imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jikes jp2 jpeg lcms libg++ libwww lzw lzw-tiff mp3 mpi ncurses nls nocardbus ogg opengl pam pdflib perl pic png python readline sasl sdl spell ssl szip tcltk tcpdtiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode usb userlocales wmf xine xml xml2 xpm xrandr xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS
I was thinking since the Changelog mentions Danny van Dyk adding the patch: 15 May 2005; Danny van Dyk <kugelfang@gentoo.org> lam-mpi-7.1.1.ebuild: Marked stable on amd64. 15 May 2005; Danny van Dyk <kugelfang@gentoo.org> +files/lam-mpi-7.1.1-shared-romio.patch, lam-mpi-7.1.1.ebuild: Fixed BUG #88110. liblammpio will now be built as static and shared library. it might be a good idea to get him involved so I took the liberty of adding him to CC
Just remade the patch, try in an hour.
