Comment 2 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-10-18 03:37:39 UTC
Does /var/db/pkg still exist? In it, you should find directories named after the
groups (f.i. net-www) and in those directories you'll find subdirectories named
after the tools + version (f.i. galeon-1.12-r1). Is this so on your system?
Because, if it isn't, that's the reason why portage thinks the tools haven't
been installed yet.

What command did you use to get that info?

What portage version?
emerge -V
Comment 5 psk 2002-11-12 06:50:08 UTC
emerge -V
Portage 2.0.43 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2, glibc-2.2.5-r4,2.3.1-r1)

Comment 6 Nicholas Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-11-12 11:37:08 UTC

Comment 7 psk 2002-11-12 12:29:04 UTC
