Description Jonathan Smith (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-16 06:23:26 UTC
as i said in irc, i tested this on two different computers. the emerge infos are below, and the error is the same on both boxes

[snip]

configure: error: The pkg-config script could not be found or is too old. Make sure it
is in your PATH or set the PKG_CONFIG environment variable to the full
path to pkg-config.

Alternatively you may set the XMLWRAPP_CFLAGS and XMLWRAPP_LIBS environment variables
to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for
more details.

To get pkg-config, see <http://www.freedesktop.org/software/pkgconfig>.
See `config.log' for more details.

Comment 1 Jonathan Smith (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-16 06:28:30 UTC
oh, the file that emerge asks me to attach to this bugreport doesn't seem to exist...
Comment 2 Aaron Walker (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-16 12:05:14 UTC
looks like for some reason the PKG_CHECK_MODULES macro isnt calling PKG_PROG_PKG_CONFIG (although it does properly if you USE=unicode).

configure.ac now calls PKG_PROG_PKG_CONFIG explicitly and is fixed in upstream svn (r332).

Comment 3 Aaron Walker (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-18 18:35:20 UTC
1.1.0 final is in cvs.
