Description Alex Weiss 2005-05-15 03:35:20 UTC
Last night portage updated opengl-update from version 2.1.1-r1 to 2.2.1. This morning it wanted to emerge 2.1.1-r1 and, afterwards, it wanted to emerge 2.2.1 again. I'm not really sure what to call this sort of problem, but I am sure you can figure it out.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge -uD world or emerge opengl-update
2.
3.

Actual Results:
If opengl-update 2.1.1-r1 is installed, it emerges version 2.2.1; if
opengl-update 2.2.1 is installed it emerges version 2.1.1-r1.

Expected Results:
Portage should not upgrade and downgrade the package in this circular manner.

Comes probably from Bug 90922...

When it would pull in the older one, do 'emerge -vt world' to see what DEPENDency is pulling it in.

On my box it was media-video/nvidia-glx-1.0.6629-r1 pullin in the old version.

6629-r6 is marked stable now, so that should clear up the loop. Thanks.
